This
specific mural was created in December of 2004 and was
designed with the use of text for the very first time.
Even though it may appear
to have very
little detail throughout the entire image, the difficulty factor came in to play when I
had to obviously keep the horizon line level for a
span
of roughly fifteen feet in diameter and make sure the
three lines of the horizon, water embankment and
boardwalk were all
somewhat “naturally” level and parallel to one another. |

There is a saying painted on the back of the bench which
has a direct relationship as to why there are two
seagulls
flying away with one another. My
father-in-law had a poem in which he wished to share to
my mother-in-law and therefore the two go hand-in-hand.
My mother-in-law opted for “True Love Always,” but she
settled for the
lighthouse and the cutout of the heart with the arrow
instead. |
