This was my first mural in which I had completed in the summer of 2003. It was my wife’s best friend’s son and I think it goes without saying that she was trying to create a shore like décor throughout his nursery.  Considering that the father is from the New England area, I tried to create a shoreline terrain that was textured and colored very similar to the northerly topography found in that particular region.

I also wanted to try and create a perspective that was looking over the horizon from a much higher elevation than one at ground level.  This way the viewer could feel him or herself at an eyelevel even higher than the lighthouse and would even be able to view the seagulls flying by close enough as if they could just reach out and touch them.
